These two colorful statement pieces are enameled, heavy gauge copper.
They were carefully coated with ground glass particles and then fired with the torch until the glass melted into colorful sheets onto the copper. The joyful fish were matched with coordinating beads and strung on an 18 inch satin cord.
The blue/gray-lavender fish has a lovely ceramic trilobite bead hand wrapped with copper. The blue/bright green-yellow fish has lovely blue and green Czech glass beads enhancing it.
These one of a kind pieces drop about 3 inches from the cord. The wire and the back of the fish are unsealed copper and will patina over time to a rich coppery brown. You will love the textured feeling of the enamel coating.
Please remember, this colorful enamel is glass. If you drop it or strike it or try to bend it (the copper is not going to bend on its own---it is extremely sturdy gauge) you can crack or break glass. Unlikely but like all delicate pieces of art and jewelry it should be handled with care.
